The Wedding Trends That Are In—and Out—For 2022

Wedding trends are constantly changing all the time. Take a look at what’s predicted to be in and out for 2022.

What’s in?

Themed Parties

Some couples opt for just a matching color scheme shown in the florals, table settings, outfits, etc. Others go all out with lavish themed parties. This could be something that represents your culture, like a Moroccan or Indian theme. You could have authentic tapestries, as well as specific food. Holidays are another popular theme, such as a winter wonderland if it’s near Christmas. Couples might even share the same love for movies and incorporate that into their wedding.

Big Blowout Weddings

Big weddings are making a comeback. Although some guest counts have decreased due to covid, the desire is there. Couples are going all out and creating quite an impression for their many guests. This includes elaborate guest attire, extravagant props, many food courses, and more.

Virtual Save-the-Dates

This is a way cheaper alternative than mailing out fancy stationary. Also, it is easier if any changes need to be made. Responses are able to be given right away, which is more organized and efficient.

Multiple and Specialty Bars

A specialty bar is a focal point that gives each cocktail its own little moment. Some ideas could be a Wood Whiskey Bar, DIY Bellini Bar, or maybe a signature cocktail named after the bride and groom.

Art-Inspired Design

The whole room becomes a part of the experience. Clients are figuring out ways to fill empty space and incorporate complex graphics into their details. Some couples have brought in an artist to paint a portrait of themselves, and the piece was then displayed for everyone to admire.

The Long Wedding Weekend

Couples have stretched their wedding out for maybe three or four days. This includes a large welcome party, a rehearsal dinner, and something active to do during the day. Afterwards they might throw a detox day party to wrap everything up.

What’s Out

Family Style Meals

Couples are looking for more formality, ritual, and elegance. They want everything neat and tidy, with a lot more room on the table.

Multiple Toasts at the Reception

Toasts are happening the night before or at a rehearsal dinner with a smaller group. Brides want to dance and get right into the party. The guests are able to get on the dance floor earlier as well.

Monogrammed Dance Floors

Monograms are still shown in the décor, but not so much as a statement on the dance floor. If you still want to opt for the floor monogram, make sure to add some artistic touches and graphics to make a statement. Choose a pattern or color that represents your overall wedding style and personality.

Muted Color Schemes

We are seeing less white, ivory, and green this year. Couples are gearing up for a more vibrant 2022.

Overly Packed Welcome Bags

Couples are looking for simplicity and being more sustainably conscious. The gifts are more thoughtful and are easier for guests to travel home with.

At the end of the day, your special day is yours to choose what you want. Stick with the trends, or start your own! Whatever you decide, you are sure to have an amazing time.
