Wedding Trends for 2023

Take a look at what wedding trends are in and out for 2023!

What’s In

Crazy Welcome Parties

A lot of couples are hosting destination weddings. With this comes a lot of entertaining of guests. There is nothing laid back about it. Brides want to show out for their guests and take them to all the fun local sports. Activities could be wine tasting in a vineyard, a BBQ on the beach, axe throwing, etc.

Midday Ceremonies

Some couples are opting for a midday ceremony. They want to have time to enjoy the wedding, but also the after party. In between, people will rest up, before the big night. It might be too much to go from the ceremony, to cocktails, to dinner, then dancing, and finally the big after party.

Dramatic Ceilings

Many couples are opting for incorporation of dramatic ceiling installations. This can be through florals, lighting, draping, etc. Something to really elevate the look and experience.

Over-The-Top Cakes and Cake Toppers

People are starting to want big statement cakes again. These really tie into the theme. Many are adding both real and fake flowers, butterflies, elaborate toppers, pearls, glitter, and more. The toppers tend to be the names of the couple or the new last name, figurines of themselves, etc.

Statement Aisles

The “S-shaped designs have been quite popular. A long aisle really sets the tone for a memorable ceremony. Brides are even going down the aisle solo, before meeting their family member halfway.

Intimate Ceremonies

Some people are keeping the ceremony a little more private and including everyone else in the reception. This eliminates some of the anxiety and helps keep the ceremony more romantic and about the couple. As well as some of the people closest to them.

Tableside Charcuterie

This can be oversized elaborate displays by themselves during cocktail or small representations on several tables. These are great for people to just graze while they are waiting for their party to start.

What’s Out

Uniform Bridesmaid Dresses

Letting your bridesmaids express themselves has become very popular these days. Although it’s your day, you still want your bridesmaids to feel good, too. There are different body types, heights, etc. So, people shouldn’t be limited to one type of style.

Welcome Bags

These have become a little outdated. Many times, people forget to take their gift bags with them and it’s just an added expense people don’t really need. Maybe just hand out one thing to remember the occasion. Such as monogrammed bottle openers.

Extravagant Escort Card Walls

Navigating where your guests are sitting is very important, but it doesn’t need to be so over the top. Go for something more classic and organized. It can still be beautiful and clean, just not so showy.

Signature Cocktails

Some couples will do a themed drink for their special day. It would be named after their married name. Instead, how about an even bigger drink experience. You could do tableside martinis, a gin cart, dinner courses paired with a drink, or even a tequila bar.

Fireworks

Fireworks are fizzling out. Save the planet and some money. Maybe opt for just some sparklers that you can easily throw away. This can be on the sendoff at the end of the wedding, or even the entrance.
